On Friday, nearly $8,000 was raised in Ozark for a special school project.
The Alabama Power Service Organization held a golf tournament with proceeds going towards funding an outdoor classroom at George W Long School in Skipperville.
“It’s raised beds where they are growing vegetables and fruits and different flowers, plants and tree. They can build a pavilion, they’ve got plans to do that to be able to house all the students that’ll come out, the teachers will come out and do an outdoor classroom type setting. Just to give them a different way of learning," explained APSO State President Katrina Haynes.
More than 70 golfers were out swinging at the Ozark Country Club.
