Angie Lowe has been working with the Special Olympics for 14 years.
She says she's always had a passion for helping others; but it's not about her, it's about the athletes and what they get from their experience at the games.
"It's just a joy to see our special needs children and adults excel in sports and activities and programs and it's very rewarding to be able to provide something for their enjoyment, " says Lowe.
Alabama's flag football team will also be competing for the first time this year.
To get them ready, Monday, June 9th, they'll play against several members of the Dothan Police Department in a game.
It'll be at 7 p.m. at the Northcut Field in Westgate park.
The team will head to the National games Saturday, June 14th.
