Girl Claims Attempted Kidnapping

It was a reported close call last night in Jackson County when a 14-year-old girl narrowly escaped being kidnapped at the Marianna recreation department.
But upon further investigation, police discovered that it never happened.
According to police, the teenager claimed she was leaving the restroom when an unknown male grabbed her from behind and took her to the wooded area behind the playing fields.
The girl claimed she was able to break free in the woods and run for help while the suspect ran away.
Investigators say the false report by the girl was an attempt to conceal her activities from her parents.
No word yet if the girl faces any charges.
