Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich isn't happy with his second place showing in the Florida primary.
He's planning to challenge the state's "Winner take all" delegate allocation.
When Florida moved its primary up to January 31, the RNC took away half of its delegates.
Now, Gingrich's camp wants the Republican National Committee to award them based on a proportion of the vote.
RNC rules do stipulate that any state holding a primary before April 1 must allocate delegates proportionally, rather than a winner-take-all scenario, but Wednesday night the RNC issued a memo explaining that it already imposed the maximum penalty on Florida and has no plans to do anything else unless a formal petition is made.
The Republican Party of Florida says all candidates knew the state was winner take all on election day. It also says it is "a shame when the loser of a contest agrees to the rules before, then cries foul after losing."
