GENEVA, AL - Geneva County Sheriff Greg Ward will not seek another term in office.
Sheriff Ward has been the Geneva County Sheriff for the 20 years. He's one of the longest-serving sheriffs in Alabama. He was first elected in November 1994.
Sheriff Ward says his family was the main consideration in his decision not to seek reelection. However, he does not rule out the possibility of running for office in the future.
Sheriff Ward has more than 30 years in law enforcement.
Currently, the only declared candidate for Geneva Co. Sheriff is an Alabama Beverage Control agent and former Geneva Co. Deputy David Hall.
