Geneva County Commissioners are being proactive when it comes to preventing vandalism.
Video of a New Year’s Eve party that damaged the Geneva County Farm Center went viral.
Friday, commissioners discussed issuing contracts for its community centers and voting houses to prevent similar incidents.
Not everyone is on board though. Some residents say contracts would interfere with their management of the facilities.
"Based on the fear of a lawsuit, then we are letting these derelicts who destroy these properties to win in order to do that," said Jerry Crutchfield.
Management of the community centers and voting houses may come up in Monday's Geneva County commission meeting.
