ATLANTA (AP) -- A Georgia nonprofit dedicated to historic preservation is asking the public for nominations to its annual list of the state's most threatened historic treasures.
The Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation releases a list every fall of 10 `Places in Peril' every year. It includes old homes, buildings, archaeological sites and other places threatened by demolition, neglect, encroaching development or poor public policy.
The Georgia Trust says nominees must be eligible for listing on the national or state registers for historic places.
The group is accepting nominations for the 2014 list through submission forms available on its website. The deadline for nominations is June 3, and the final listings will be announced in October.
