Ga. Farm Bureau Holiday Fundraiser Successful for Food Banks

ATLANTA (AP) -- The Georgia Farm Bureau says a fundraising campaign brought in $20,000 for holiday donations to food banks in the state.

Zippy Duvall, president of the Georgia Farm Bureau, says the money was raised by the group's 158 county chapters during its Harvest for All campaign.

The cash went to the Georgia Food Bank Association to buy chicken, peanut butter and other food that's inexpensive but high in protein for distribution to affiliated food banks in the state.

The Georgia Farm Bureau says this is the eighth year it has raised money during the Harvest for All campaign, which helps feed Georgians who have fallen on hard times.
