Auburn, AL- AIDT, Alabama's resource for workforce development, is seeking applicants for a pre-employment training program for GE Aviation in Auburn. GE Aviationʼs 300,000 square-foot factory in Auburn is expected to employ 300 to 400 people when the plant is at full ramp-up later this decade. The Auburn complex, currently completing construction, will produce advanced jet engine components. The plant will open for business in early 2013 with plans to move its first employees into the operation by January.
Employees will work with some of the most sophisticated manufacturing and precision machining technology. Responsibilities include such tasks as operating CNC and non-CNC machines, identifying process improvements, setting up machines per drawing instructions, and maintaining quality production records.
GE is offering employees competitive wages, health-care benefits and a 401kretirement plan.
