GA Health Insurance Enrollment

Uninsured Americans are procrastinating on signing up for health insurance through the Affordable Care Act.

According to a study from the Associated Press about half of the uninsured live in just 113 of the nation's 3,143 counties.

Some Georgia residents say they'd rather pay a penalty, than enroll in the health insurance marketplace.

Many say the premiums are too high.

"The low-income families are worrying about how to keep the roof over their head, how to eat. They’re not really thinking about what happens if I have a health issue."

"Depending on what type of insurance I choose from the plan, it may be anywhere from three hundred dollars plus a month. and i certainly, I am on a fixed income, I do work for a non-profit, and I really can't afford that much out of my income, my monthly income."

There are less than 60 days left to enroll.

The deadline is March 31st.
