Georgia State lawmakers are considering a bill that would allow firefighters carry guns on the job.
House Bill 807 would allow firefighters to be armed if their departments say it's ok.
In the spring of 2013, some Gwinnett County firefighters and paramedics were taken hostage during a call.
Some believe if the first responders were armed, the incident might have been avoided, but others are concerned that it would put too much pressure on the firefighters.
"I think there would have to be some serious conversations between not only the fire chief but the police chief and those county elected officials. We have to decide if this is something that the county elected delegation wants to see in their county," said Clayton County Fire Chief, Landry Merkison.
We want to know what you think about this bill.
