In November of 2013, the city of Dothan played host to a convention celebrating superheroes, animation, and much more.

That convention was "Fanaticon Alpha," organized by Phillip Chalker of Fanatix and partially funded on-line.
The convention attracted over 500 visitors, some in costume. There was also merchandise, panels, costume contests and more.

Now, the sequel convention is in the planning stages. Over the weekend, the KickStarter for "Fanaticon Beta" went live. This second, larger convention is planned to be 2 days long and will take place at the Enterprise Civic Center in November of 2014.

One special guest that is slated to attend is Johnny Yong Bosch, who played Adam on Power Rangers for several seasons along with providing many voices in anime and other series. Other parts of the convention include a panel on My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, a cosplay contest, game tournaments of Yu-Gi-Oh and Magic: The Gathering, live music and more.

As of early Monday morning, the fundraiser had reached almost half of its $3,000 goal with four weeks to go.
