Ft. Rucker to Host Awards Luncheon

Army Aviation officials will host the Lt. Gen. (R) Ellis D. Parker Award Luncheon, Jan.24 at The Landing at 12:00 p.m.
The luncheon is a forum used to recognize top Army Aviation units for demonstrating excellence in the areas of leadership, training, maintenance and safety.
Guest speaker for the luncheon is retired Army Gen. Bryan D. Brown. Brown served as the Commanding General of Joint Special Operations Command, Ft. Bragg NC, United States Army Special Operations Command, Deputy Commander and Commander, United States Special Operations Command. Brown is a Master Aviator with over 5,000 hours of flight time and is an air assault graduate.
Awards for Best Combat Support Battalion, Best Combat Service Support Battalion, Best Table of Distribution and Allowances, and Overall Winner and Best Combat Battalion will be presented to the respective battalion commanders of recipient battalions for distinguished service.
The awards were established Jan. 31, 1992, by Gen. Gordon R. Sullivan, then Chief of Staff of the Army, to honor Parker at his retirement in recognition of his long association with Aviation and his accomplishments in developing Aviation as a Branch.
