Fourth Annual Back-to-School Bash

OPP-- For some families, back-to-school means added stress and worry.
Many fear they won't be able to provide their kids with essential school supplies.

"Some of it, we really can't afford. We've got twelve grand children and it would help just to have a little bit of help just buying some of the supplies."

But now "This really is a blessing because the price is expensive on that stuff and I have like four to get for, two in high school and two in middle school. And like I said, it is hard but I thank God that somebody's just out to help the kids and to help people that need help on getting supplies and stuff."

"I'm very grateful. I'm thankful for it, very thankful."

Timothy Williams, who is a pastor of the church, says this Back-to-School Bash will help get students excited about school and hopefully combat the high drop-out rates in the Wiregrass.

"Our drop-out rates are just sky high, you know, we have a lot of kids that are dropping out of school so the reason we do this also is to encourage our young people to stay in school."

"I just think this is an awesome opportunity to just reach out and inspire young people to go to school and to make sure they take advantage of their education to become all they can be."

Because sometimes, we as a community, have to give a hand-out to give a hand-up.
