BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) -- The former owner of a Birmingham strip club has pleaded guilty to filing a false income tax return and admitted owing nearly $450,000 in federal income taxes.
U.S. Attorney Joyce Vance said 56-year-old Ahmad Rahiminejad of Helena pleaded guilty to one count Thursday in Birmingham. She said he owes $446,693 in taxes for 2006 through 2009.
Rahiminejad owned several businesses in the Birmingham area, including Mike's Crossroads strip club, the Gold Club and a gas station.
Prosecutors said he reported those businesses on his tax returns, but he listed his gross income for 2006 at nearly $630,000 while it was actually $1.1 million.
He is scheduled for sentencing Oct. 25. He faces up to three years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
