MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) -- A former Montgomery physician has been granted a new trial in the death of Ralph McNeil, a well-known animal trapper called the "Critter Man."

Reports say that Montgomery County Circuit Court Judge Charles Price issued the order Friday. Nash was convicted of capital murder in August, and then received a previous order for a new trial based on juror misconduct.

An appeals court review of that ruling ordered that the conviction be reinstated because Nash hadn't been sentenced at the time. After Nash was sentenced to life in prison in April, the judge could order a new trial again.

Nash's attorney says co-defendant Jeremy Riley, who is serving a 25-year sentence, will be compelled to testify in the new trial.
