Dothan, AL—A formal complaint has been filed with various federal and state agencies containing allegations of witness intimidation, witness tampering, obstruction of justice, coercion, collusion, official misconduct, conspiracy to commit false arrest, and other civil rights claims against District Attorney Douglas Valeska, the Dothan Police Department, and the Houston County Sheriff’s Office.

Part of the complaint addresses the recent arrests of the two Houston County women who were wrongfully indicted at the behest of DA Valeska stemming from grand jury proceedings involving the shooting death of Christopher Thomas by a Dothan city police officer.

The women, the Thomas family, their lawyer, Attorney Mark Overall, and several witnesses, will hold a press conference on Friday, November 30, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Attorney Overall’s law office listed below. Questions from the media will also be addressed at this time and copies of the complaint will be available at that time also.
