Marianna, Fl – In observance of National Public Health Week, April 7-11, the Florida Department of Health in Jackson County will be offering free diabetes related screenings on Wednesday, April 9th from 8:30 to 11:30.
These screenings will include Hemoglobin A1C Diabetes Screenings and, because being overweight greatly increases an individual’s chance of developing Type II Diabetes, height, weight and body mass index screenings will be offered.
Education on a variety of topics related to maintaining a healthy weight, healthy lifestyle choices, healthy eating, diabetes self-management and being active will be also be included.
