A VETERAN LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER IN SOUTHERN COVINGTON COUNTY IS ASKING HIS CITY TO "RAISE" THE SALARIES OF HIS OFFICERS.
IN THE LAST MONTH, FLORALA POLICE CHIEF SONNY BEDSOLE LOST TWO YOUN OFFICERS TO OPP.
CHIEF BEDSOLE SAYS THEY'LL BE MAKING 300 DOLLARS MORE A MONTH AND WILL ENTER THE STATE RETIREMENT SYSTEM.
TYPICALLY, OFFICERS FUFILL A 2-YEAR CONTRACT WITH FLORLA..., AND THEN MOVE TO HIGHER-PAYING POLICE POSITIONS:
NEXT MONTH, THE FLORALA CITY COUNCIL PLANS TO DISCUSS THE SALARIES PAID TO POLICE AND OTHER CITY WORKERS.
