Florala "Live" Crucifixion


A small church in Florala holds a "live" crucifixion scene through Good Friday.

Other churches are putting on passion plays, concerts, Seder dinners and other event in recognizing Jesus’ death from crucifixion and rising again three days later. For the bystander along Fifth Avenue in downtown Florala, one can easily feel as if he or she is back in time by more than two-thousand years. A truly dramatic scene.
From six to eight o'clock each night through Good Friday, a "live" depiction of the crucifixion is brought to life as thousands of motorists are in route..., or heading home from Florida’s gulf coast. The parishioners of Florala’s First Assembly of God portray the biblical roles from the momentous period. Jesus completely covered in blood at times' has stopped traffic along the tourist corridor…
