Alabama parents may soon have a star rating system to help them pick the best daycare.
The state's new, five star scale system may soon apply to licensed child care centers that choose to participate in the program.
The state will be testing the "Alabama quality stars" pilot program at 50 daycares across the state through June of next year.
The centers will be rated on a scale of one to five stars.
The stars are meant to rate centers that offer benefits above and beyond the minimum standards.
The initial findings won't be made public but be used to fine-tune the program.
