The new director of the Alabama Administrative Office of Courts says he has fired five members of the office's legal staff.

AOC director Rich Hobson says he dismissed attorneys Dean Hartzog, David Sawyer, Eric Anderson and Nathan Wilson. He also terminated staff employee Brenda Ganey.

Hobson was picked by new Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore to head the Administrative Office of Courts. Hobson also held the position when Moore was chief justice from 2001 to 2003.

Hobson says he hired attorney Win Johnson as director of the AOC's legal staff. Hobson says Johnson, who has a law practice in Montgomery, previously worked with Moore and former Chief Justice Perry Hooper.

Hobson says two AOC lawyers, Bob Maddox and Eric Locke, have been kept on the staff.
