Firework Sales on the 4th

Between sparklers and firecrackers that light up the sky, the wiregrass seems to have their favorite.

“The most popular firework we are going to sell this year is the artillery shells which you load one at a time in the tube and it goes up and bursts out pretty colors.” JR’s Firework owner Jr Poppell said.

"Roman candles are popular and the multilateral shots are popular.” BJ’s Firework owner James Brannon said.

Firework store owners say this year business has been pretty steady.

The sales have been about consistent with last year, very similar to last year.

And just like they tell their families, firework store employees have a few last reminders before you start shooting off your firecrackers.

“Make sure you got a water hose around. Maybe even put the sprinkler going around at where you are going to shoot them at.” Poppell said.

“Make sure they put the product on the ground as instructed and light it and move away quickly. And if it doesn’t shoot, don't go over there to see what’s wrong or pick it up.” Brannon said.

Brannon and Poppell say a safe Fourth of July is a happy one.

Florida and Alabama have different firework laws.
Florida bans everything except sparklers and glow worms.
In Alabama, some cities allow residents to shoot off fireworks and others don’t.
