PENSACOLA, FLORIDA – Robert F. Fraser, age 26, Teandre L. Altman, age 21, and Frank A. Rogers, age 19, all of Pensacola, were taken into federal custody based upon a criminal complaint alleging federal firearm law violations, announced United States Attorney Pamela C. Marsh, Northern District of Florida.
The criminal complaint, sworn to by a special agent of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, alleges that between August 26 and August 28, 2014, the three defendants were in possession of stolen firearms, and that Fraser and Altman were convicted felons in possession of the firearms.
Late Wednesday afternoon, the defendants appeared before United States Magistrate Judge Elizabeth M. Timothy, and they were all detained without bond on the charges. The defendants also face state felony charges relating to the home invasion in both Santa Rosa and Escambia counties.
U.S. Attorney Marsh praised the work of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office, the Gulf Breeze Police Department, the Pensacola Police Department, and the State Attorney’s Office, whose joint investigation led to the criminal complaint in the case.
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney David L. Goldberg.
A complaint is merely an allegation that a defendant has committed a violation of federal criminal law and is not evidence of guilt. All defendants are presumed innocent and entitled to have a Grand Jury determine probable cause exists to return an Indictment. After an indictment is returned, a defendant is entitled to a fair trial, during which it will be the government’s burden to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
