Fatal Traffic Crash in Okaloosa County

A single car traffic crash in northern Okaloosa County Monday evening killed one person and seriously injured another.

The Florida Highway Patrol says the mishap happened on SR 189 just north of 17th Street.

Killed was 25 year old Lindsay Renee Duncan of Baker. She was a passenger in a car driven by 23 year old Adam B. Odum of Crestview.

Troopers say their car was southbound in the northbound lane, ran off the roadway, struck a concrete culvert and overturned several times. Duncan, who was not wearing a seatbelt was partially ejected from the overturning car and died at the scene.

Odum, the driver, was lifeflighted to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola. He’s in serious condition and has been charged with vehicular homicide and driving while license is suspected.

Troopers say additional charges are pending the completion of the crash investigation.
