FDOT Sets Highway 98 Meeting

Chipley - The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will host a public information meeting concerning upcoming construction on State Road (S.R.) 30A (U.S. 98/Back Beach Road) from Heather Drive to a point west of S.R. 30 (U.S. 98A).

The meeting will be held Thursday, Dec. 6 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. (CST) at the Panama City Beach Senior Center, 423 Lyndell Street, Panama City Beach.

The project consists of resurfacing the existing travel lanes of U.S. 98. Sidewalks, pedestrian signals and turn lanes will be added along the corridor. Median opening modifications and safety improvements are included in the eight-mile project. Construction begins the week of December 10, 2012.

Representatives from FDOT will be available to explain the upcoming project.
