The Florida Department of Transportation is working to make Interstate 10 economically efficient, environmentally sound, and easily accessible.
To do this they adopted an I-10 Master Plan. The project is just in the beginning stages right now but the organization has valued public input throughout the entire planning process.
They held their final recommendation meeting, which was open to the public, in Chipley. Some of the topics were adding an interchange near Antioch Road in Crestview, as well as improving lighting conditions on certain ramps for safety purposes.
FDOT Spokesperson Tanya Branton says safety is the number one priority in this project.
