DOTHAN, AL - A Eufaula teacher convicted on sex charges in 2011 is trying to have her sentence reduced.
Carrie Perkins was found guilty of rape and sodomy of a 15-year-old student.
She was a teacher at Parkview Christian School in Eufaula.
The incident happened in May of 2010 at a Dothan motel.
Investigators said Perkins was the victim's 7th grade science teacher.
She was sentenced in February 2011 to 14 years.
Wednesday, she requested that sentence be reduced. Judge Butch Binford has taken the request under advisement and will rule later.
