ENTERPRISE, AL -- The Enterprise Police Department Criminal Investigation Division obtained a warrant for an individual related to the April 17, 2014, shooting in the 100 Blk of Woodfield Place in Enterprise.
The individual, Terrence Lamar Clayton, was identified by the alleged victim as the individual responsible for the shooting in a photograph police lineup. As EPD continued to investigate the matter, it became evident that the individual who had been identified by the alleged victim as the shooter could not have been in Enterprise at the time of the shooting.
Immediately upon receipt of this information, EPD notified the district attorney’s office and the proceedings as to Mr. Terrence Lamar Clayton were withdrawn and dismissed.
On May 7, 2014, the suspect in the April 18, 2014 shooting in the 100 Blk of Woodfield Place Enterprise, AL was apprehended in Huntsville, AL.
EPD Criminal Investigations Division obtained a warrant for Attempted Murder on Terrance Clayton, age 21, of Huntsville, AL.
Clayton was apprehended by US Marshalls and taken into custody.
Clayton will be extradited back to Coffee County and placed in the Coffee County Jail.
