Elba Police Arrest Man for Domestic Violence

UPDATE : Officials say at approximately 11: 30 a.m. Elba Police responded to a domestic incident at a residence on Larkin Road. Upon arrival the victim indicated that she was in a verbal argument with her husband 57-year-old John Coleman Davis Jr.

The victim stated that the argument became physical and that Davis had a shotgun. The victim further stated that Davis went back into the residence with the shotgun and locked the door. The victim told officers that her daughter and grandson were inside the residence with Davis. Officers attempted to call and use a PA system to contact Davis but were unsuccessful.

At approximately 12:30 p.m. Davis voluntary exited his residence and was taken into custody without incident. After further investigation it was determined there was no hostage situation. Davis was charged with Domestic Violence 3rd degree and placed in the Coffee County Jail.
ELBA, AL - There was a reported hostage situation at approximately 11:30 AM in Elba, AL.

The hostage situation has now ended. A suspect is in custody, and no injuries have been reported at this time.
