Early Morning Fire Destroys Home in Madrid

An early morning fire in Madrid leaves a family with nothing.

It happened just before 2 a.m on Harden Road just off Highway 231 South. No one was in the home at time. Firefighters say the fire was electrical in nature. The Homeowner Lucille Powell says she is lucky to be alive and with her family.

She also says she is grateful no one was in the house at the time the fire started.

According to the U.S. Fire Administration, electrical fires account for over twenty-five thousand residential fires each year in America.
