The Early County Sheriff's Department is looking to add a four-legged member to their team.
The department is trying to raise money for a k-9 unit by asking local businesses for donations.
Sheriff William Price says there's been an increase in drug related crimes in his county.
It will cost about $16,000 for the k-9 and training.
An officer has already shown interest in being a handler.
They currently rely on neighboring counties to assist in investigations.
Letters were delivered to businesses today.
The sheriff's department has also set up an account at the Bank of Early.
