Drug Arrests After Drug Dog Alerts Authorities

On Thursday, February 14, 2013, Deputy Scott Spence with the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office conducted a traffic stop on I-10 on a silver Jeep for excessive speed.
K9 Handler Deputy Jon Duenas, utilized his certified drug detector canine "Diesel" to conduct a walk around of the Jeep.
"Diesel" alerted to the odor of illegal drugs emitting from the Jeep.
A search of the Jeep revealed suspected Marijuana, Cocaine and MDMA, approximately $68,000.00 in U.S. Currency and drug paraphernalia.
Aaron Jorge Nobregas and Carlos Madeira Cardoso were arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Deputy's Spence and Duenas along with K9 "Diesel" are members of the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office Interdiction Unit.
Members of the Interdiction Unit are specially trained in the detection and apprehension of drug traffickers and other criminal offenders that utilize the Interstate, highways and other roadways.
