Some called the key note speaker at Troy University's 13th Annual Leadership Conference a national treasure. The youngest daughter of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Dr. Bernice King, wowed the Troy community Friday night. The conference celebrated African American History Month. Dr. Bernice King spoke of her father's famous speeches, and inspired others to take leadership, rather than look for a leader.
"Leadership is taking personal responsibility. And when living in a day and age when too many people are deferring to other people, for the solution, for the answer, for the direction, and yet God put every one of us here on earth to be an answer to a question,” empowered Dr. Bernice King, Executive Director of The King Center in Atlanta, Georgia.
The conference continues Saturday, February 8th. Registration begins at 7:30 am in the Trojan Center Lobby. For more information, visit our 4 More Info page.
