Dothan City Commissioners will consider a proposal to turn part of Downtown into an entertainment district Tuesday.
They will discuss the ordinance at tomorrow's City Commission meeting.
If passed, the ordinance would allow open containers during certain events in downtown.
Those events would have to be approved in advance by commissioners.
The ordinance would also let already-established businesses with liquor licenses to sell alcohol in non-glass containers.
The ordinance's sponsor, the Downtown Group, says it would benefit events like Foster Fest.
At a work session on Friday, Commissioners discussed enforcement, liability and insurance.
The public was not allowed to speak.
However, they will be allowed to voice their concerns at Tuesday’s meeting.
