Dothan Police Officer Shoots Son
Dothan Police are investigating a shooting involving a police officer and her son.

Investigators say police responded to a firearm assault on third avenue today.
Officials say it appears the officer shot her adult son in self defense.
Investigators have learned the officer and her son have had limited contact following a documented domestic situation which happened earlier this month.
The suspect was transported to a local hospital where he is receiving treatment for a moderate injury.
Police have not released names of involved parties at this time.
