Freedom Fest in Fort Rucker will go on as planned thanks to area cities.
Tuesday Dothan city commissioners agreed to enter into an agreement to help sponsor the event. The city will donate $2,250.
Organizers needed help with funding because of budget cuts.
"It's a wonderful family day but they were concerned about doing that. So the mayors we said we would help and that's what this is and all the sister cities and surrounding cities are agreeing to help," Mayor, Mike Schmitz said.
Fort Rucker partnered with Daleville, Enterprise and Ozark to help keep the tradition alive.
Festivities will start tomorrow July 3rd at 4 p.m. complete with the area's largest fireworks show.
It is free and open to the public, but no backpacks, coolers, weapons or pets will be allowed.
The fireworks display will go on even if it rains
