On July 1st, 2014 the Dothan Police Department responded to the 1100 block of Fountain Street in reference to a complaint of child neglect.

Upon arrival, officers were advised that four children, ranging between the ages of five years old and five months, were alone in a home with no electricity. Officers conducted a welfare check of the home and found the children with no adult supervision and burnt marijuana cigarettes throughout the residence.

The mother of the children, 29-year-old Lisa Buford, arrived shortly after and was arrested for endangering the children, by exposing them to a controlled substance.

Buford, black female, was arrested and charged with four counts of Chemical Endangerment of a Child. Bond amounts have been set and total $60,000.00.

All persons arrested are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
