DOTHAN, AL - On July 2, 2013 the Dothan Police Department made a felony arrest following the recent investigation of an assault that occurred in the 200 block of Blissett Drive.
Investigators say Deonne Jenkins got into a verbal altercation with the victim, a black male in his mid 30’s, while at the home of Keyerra Salter on July 1, 2013. The argument then turned physical as the victim and Jenkins began fighting near the kitchen area. During that fight, Salter picked a knife up and stabbed the victim in the thigh. The victim was able to get away from the two individuals and attempted to drive himself home. While en route, the victim lost consciousness and crashed into a yard off of S. Park Avenue. He was transported and treated at a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
Salter was arrested and charged with assaulting the victim bringing this case to a close.
• Keyerra Monique Salter, black female, 20 years of age, of Blissett Drive was arrest and charged with first degree Assault. A bond amount has been set at $30,000. All persons arrested are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
