Dothan's sales and lodging tax collections received some good news this month. Both were up for the month of August.
As reported in September, the city collected $4.7 million in sales taxes in August. That is up more than 3.5 percent from the month before.
For the year, sales tax collections are up for more than 3 percent. The city collected nearly $129,000 in lodging taxes in August; nearly 5 percent from the month before.
For the year, lodging tax collections are up nearly one-and-a-half percent.
