One Dothan principal is a finalist for the 2013 Marbury Technology Award.
The award recognizes educators who are good models of teachers and leaders.
Staff at Morris Slingluff Elementary School is going beyond the basics by giving students the opportunity to work with technology.
Besides a computer lab, students are able to learn from iPads and smart boards.
Principal Teresa Davis says she could not have done it by herself.
"My faculty should be the one receiving this award all I do is I come up with it in my head and some how they make it happen so its just an honor to lead a faculty, just a great faculty," said Davis
Next school year Davis plans on adding 30 laptops to one of her 5th grade classes.
