Police in Dothan are reminding you to lock your car doors.
That's after more than two dozen car break-ins this past weekend. Officers investigated 28 cases.
They say locking your cars could solve some of the problems, especially with the holidays coming up.
Investigators say thieves look for cars with gifts inside.
Also, with the new carry and conceal law in Alabama, people are leaving weapons in their cars.
Dothan Police Captain, Tony Gonzalez, said, “"If it makes the hair on the back of your neck stand up, call law enforcement. Your local law enforcement we will came out and cruise through. That little bit of deterrence of a patrol car may change their mind or if we see something out of the ordinary we may stop and see what’s going on."
Investigators recommend writing down serial numbers of equipment in your car, and taking pictures in case there is a break-in.
