A Dothan Police Officer is on administrative leave for the second time this year.
Dothan Police confirm that Raemonica Carney is on administrative leave with pay. The action was taken on Monday following an incident at Carney’s home.
Earlier this year, Carney was placed on administrative leave for comments she made on her personal Facebook page. Judge Butch Binford is expected to make his ruling on the matter soon. In the meantime the Dothan Personnel Board is just beginning their second investigation.
“Typically once we are notified that there are some issues that could potentially hurt or harm the working environment for other employees and interrupt the service that is provided to the public the first thing we normally do is place the employee on administrative leave of course, administrative leave is with pay so that we can conduct a fact finding investigation to determine if there are any policy violations or not,” explained Delvick McKay, Personnel Director for the City of Dothan.
WTVY has reached out to Carney and her attorney for comment, but they have not returned our messages.
Internal affairs is now handling the investigation for the Dothan Police Department.
