On Aug. 13 the Dothan Police Department responded to the Wal-Mart on Montgomery Highway in reference to a theft in progress complaint.
Investigators say an employee of the business witnessed the suspects concealing store merchandise in their clothing.
Cassandra Walker, 28, of Montgomery, an unknown black male and a black female juvenile went to several Wal-mart stores between Montgomery, Alabama and Dothan, taking and attempting to take items without paying for them.
An employee of the Dothan store observed the subjects concealing property and notified the Dothan Police Department. The subjects were confronted outside of the business after exiting the store with a shopping cart of stolen merchandise, valued at over $1,800. The male ran away, but Walker and the juvenile were detained by officers in the parking-lot.
Walker was arrested and charged with second degree theft of property before being transported to the Dothan City Jail. Her bond has been set at $2,500. The juvenile was also charged with second degree theft of property and was transported to the Houston County Diversion Center.
The true identity of the male subject is unknown and the case will remain open until he is taken into custody as well.
