Dothan Man Arrested in Walmart Theft Case

DOTHAN, AL - On January 2, 2013 an investigator with the Dothan Police Department entered Wal-Mart located at 4310 Montgomery Highway to gather information in an ongoing case. As he entered the business, he noticed a man rapidly pushing a shopping cart toward the entrance/exit by which he was entering at the time. He then immediately noticed members of Wal-Mart Security running toward the man and detained him as they approached. Store employees stated the man was in possession of a large amount of property that he had concealed in bags before attempting to exit the store. The property was recovered and the suspect, Clemitay Helms was arrested bringing the case to a close.

•Clemitay Helms, black male, 33 years of age, of East Burdeshaw Street was arrested and charged with Second Degree Theft with a $2,500 bond. All persons arrested are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
