DOTHAN, AL -- Rising interest rates are giving people the push they need to purchase a new home.
One realtor said the desire to save money is sometimes all a person needs to make a purchase.
"People are really trying to get ahead of the interest rate rise. I've seen rates recently at 4.5 whereas six to eight months ago I was seeing rates around 3.5," Realtor William Wilburn said.
The Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine and Fort Rucker are also cited as reasons people are moving into the "Circle City."
