Dothan Firefighters are "Turning the Wiregrass Pink"

Dothan firefighters are " Turning the Wiregrass Pink" Friday.

All week firefighters have worn pink shirts in support of breast cancer awareness.

They're encouraging everyone in the Wiregrass to join in.

"it's just showing our support for the survivors of breast cancer and those who continue to struggle with breast cancer now. there's so few people that are not touched in some way whether it's themselves family or friends and we just want to show our support for this cause," Dothan Fire Department Battalion Chief Chris Etheridge.

The fire department sold more than 500 shirts this year as part of a fundraiser.

That money will go towards local breast cancer research.
