UPDATE: This story was updated at 12 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 12.

Just after 6:30 a.m. on Monday, a fire broke out on the 500 block of North Saint Andrews Street.

The building has been vacant for several years, still authorities called the home-owner and assured no-one was inside.

Part of the problem crew’s face now is trying to keep the building cool. Since the building is an older structure, it heats up quickly and stays hot for awhile.

Firefighters have been out at the scene since this morning, spraying water on both sides of the home in order to help keep it from a possible collapse.

Most of the roads surrounding the building are opened, except for East Newton Street, which remains closed.
