Dothan Animal Shelter Gets A-C Unit

The Dothan Animal Shelter says goodbye to fans.

Crews are now installing an air conditioning unit for the building.

This will keep all the animals housed inside cool.

The money was raised by Dothan resident, Elsie Campbell.

She started a program called The Red Retrievers.

The program collected $20,000 dollars.

"It's wonderful, we're looking forward to the fact that we're not going to have so much respiratory infection out here, it's going to be more pleasant for the public to come out here as well, it's going to cut down on the odor just because it's going to be a lot cooler," said Sgt. Adriane Woodruff.

Once the unit is up and running the shelter will hold an open house for residents who donated to the fund to come out and see their money at work.
