A Dense Fog Advisory is in effect for much of Central Alabama, including Pike County until 9am. However, as of 4am, the southern-most counties of the wiregrass are not in the advisory.

As far as cities within our area are concerned, the advisory includes Troy and Eufuala—all of Pike and Barbour counties. Many other major cities to the north of the News 4 viewing area are under the advisory as well such as Jasper, Tuscaloosa, Birmingham, Auburn, Montgomery, and more.

These counties are under the jurisdiction of the Birmingham office of the National Weather Service. However, counties such as Houston and Henry are under the Tallahassee office, which is why these counties are not under this particular advisory. That does not mean, however, that there is not a chance of fog for places such as Dothan and Ozark as well.

For those in this advisory, dense fog will be possible through 9am this morning. Visibilities could be as low as a quarter of a mile in some spots.
